CAMP SEQUOYAH Day Camps

13 Jan CAMP SEQUOYAH Day Camps

Thank you for your interest in summer camps at Mount Sequoyah! Thanks to your support we have grown our summer camp offerings for 2018. All day camps are for children ages 5 – 12 years old; four-year-olds who will be attending kindergarten in the fall are also welcome for Camp Sequoyah and Little Village programs. If you have kids who are 13 and up, they are welcome to apply to be a junior counselor for any Camp Sequoyah Session – have them contact Emily Gentry at emily.gentry@mountsequoyah.org.

There are three entities who will be hosting summer camps at Mount Sequoyah.
1. Camp Sequoyah – These camps are put on and run by Mount Sequoyah Center and staff. Camps will accept a maximum of 75 kids for full day camps and a maximum of 40 kids for half day tennis camps.
2. Little Village – Lisa Jo Outlaw (bio below) will be running a supplemental 5 week program designed to intertwine with Camp Sequoyah. Little Village camps will be smaller than Camp Sequoyah Camps, and more information can be found on this flyer: Little Village Informational Flyer
3
. Kanakuk – Kanakuk will be hosting 3 weeks of their KampOut! program at Mount Sequoyah. Each week is sponsored by a church, but you don’t have to be a member of that church to attend! These camps will be very large at 200 campers per session.

If you are interested in child care provided by Little Village of Fayetteville, please read a short bio about Lisa Jo Outlaw here:
“Lisa Jo Outlaw has worked in childcare for nearly 15 years. She has experience with children, ages 5 – 15 from her time as a nanny and a Montessori assistant and lead-teacher. She also helped develop an after school program at the Jones Center for middle school students before starting her Little Village series of enrichment programs in Fayetteville in 2011. Borrowing tenets from the Montessori method, Waldorf philosophy, and Reggio Emilio approach, she promotes holistic learning. Program activities encompass all areas of community involvement (local economy, ecology, civics, recreation, volunteerism, etc.) as well as self-sufficiency, practical life and social skills, creative thinking and expression.”
