Chamber Music on the Mountain presents The Ozark Wind Quintet Sunday, November 21st at 3pm in Millar Lodge.
The Ozark Wind Quintet has programmed a variety of music by composers: Ibert, Hindemith, Arnold, Piazzolla, Giraud, and Running. The five member group will perform a diverse program of music both pleasing and unique to the wind quintet medium. The wide variety of music selections will be sure to interest every taste.
The community is invited to enjoy a Sunday afternoon of chamber music as part of the ongoing series presented by Chamber Music on the Mountain. This particular concert will include short introductions by the members about the interesting and sometimes quirky lives of the composers in an audience friendly format. The audience is sure to enjoy learning trivia about the composers, find out for example, who started their career as a silent movie pianist, who wrote a piece for accordion and slide whistle, and more. Learning a little about the lives of composers and hearing examples of how their life experiences played out in their music is always a joyful way to experience music.
