Types of Pool Time
Make time for fitness and improve your technique with Coach Anita Parisi! These adult programs are for swimmers ages 14 & up who are comfortable in the water.
Coached Lap Swim
These adult classes with Coach Anita Parisi are programmed with approximately 2-6 swimmers per lane. There are lanes of beginners that are swimming 1-2 lengths of the pool at a time before stopping and there are lanes of swimmers doing close to 2 miles per workout day. There are lanes in-between. Come join us!
Each month, you can choose from the following practice times:
Pricing is per month based on the number of practice times you sign up for:
Lap Swimming Basics Classes (individual classes)
Are you nervous about starting with the group? This is the perfect class for you! We are excited to continue our Lap Swimming Basics class that will help adults get more comfortable with their lap swimming. The class will focus on technique to get the most out of your lap swimming sessions, whether you swim on your own or with a group. This is prime time with Coach Anita. Each of these classes is “stand-alone” as the same material will be covered; however, if you would like the additional practice, you can register for both and continue to work on technique.
Classes run for one hour and cost $15 per swimmer, per class. Mount Sequoyah Pool Members and Clubhaus Fitness Members receive $5 off. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to get your discount code.
This is not a “learn-to-swim” class for adults who are afraid of the water. (Anita will be offering private lessons for those swimmers at her house and in a more private setting. If you are interested, email Anita at email@example.com.)
Please join Coach Anita Parisi for the Marlins Swim Team at Mount Sequoyah. The Marlins are a recreational summer swim team at Mount Sequoyah Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Our goal is fun, fitness, and finesse! It’s a great, local program where swimmers can learn endurance and swim competency for sports, health, and life! All four competitive strokes will be covered. Swimmers will partake in friendly competitions with other teams in the league as COVID-19 safety regulations allow.
Marlins is not a learn-to-swim program. Your child must be able to swim across the pool in the deep end unassisted. Any new-to-Marlins swimmers age 7 & under must test with Coach Anita to participate. Testing Days: March 14 & 16 @ 4:30 pm at the Jones Center Pool OR May 3 & 5 @ 3:45 pm at the Mount Sequoyah Pool. If your child does not pass the test, your non-refundable deposit will not be returned. Additionally, if you do not show up for the test and your child shows up to the first practice unprepared, you forfeit the entire session fee.
New Youth Offerings in 2022
We want to particularly draw your attention to our two newest offerings: an Interim Speed Week (May/June) as well as an August Interim Swim Camp.
Our Interim Speed Week is a one-week session with practices every day of the week. It’s great for brushing up or extra practice before camps, lake season, and summer Marlins. ($100 per swimmer)
Our Swim Camp will run mornings from August 8-11. We’ll be working on diving, flip turns, and water safety in addition to our usual drills, and fun. Includes playground, craft time, and a morning snack. Prerequisite: must have previously done a Marlins or other organized swim program. ($180 per swimmer)
Registration for returning swimmers opened on Tuesday, March 1 at 9:00 am. The general public began registering on Wednesday, March 2 at 9:00 am.

CHAMPIONSHIP MEET FOR ALL SUMMER QUALIFIERS:
Meets are optional (not a requirement) but we certainly encourage participation.
Don’t forget our fall Marlin Mini Meet on Saturday, September 17 (fun meet for anyone in our fall session including youth AND adults).
While Mount Sequoyah doesn’t offer swimming lessons, we’ve partnered with AquaHawgs to provide high-quality lessons right here at the Mount Sequoyah Pool.
HawgStart Swim School offers classes for swimmers ages 3 and up.
Classes are geared for a wide range of abilities. Their experienced staff will help your swimmer advance their swimming skills in a positive environment and, as with their AquaHawgs competitive program, develop the fundamentals of proper technique at the core of their teaching.
